Jessie Drida Bacon, age 92, a resident of Kindred Hearts, 5005 Vista
Road, Manitowoc, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, May 9, 2006,
at Kindred Hearts.
Jessie was born on Nov. 12, 1913, in Forest Junction, to the late Robert
and Ottilie Reim Haese. She was raised and educated in Manitowoc, and
graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1931. On May 27,
1939, she married James Drida in Manitowoc. James preceded her in death
on July 4, 1971. She later married John Bacon on May 18, 1974. John
preceded her in death on May 14, 2004. After Jessie graduated from
Lincoln High School, she worked at Aluminum Specialty Company in Manitowoc,
and later was employed at Rummele's Jewelry Store in Manitowoc for many
years. Once she retired, she then had an opportunity to become active in
the YMCA. She valued and cherished the friends she met there, and the
activities they enjoyed together.
Survivors include two daughters: Sandy Mitcheltree, Milwaukee, and Kay Drida, Manitowoc; two grandchildren: Dennis Mitcheltree, Brooklyn, N.Y., and Denise Keon, Green BAy; three great-grandchildren: Antoinette Briguglio-Mitcheltree, New York City, and Kelsey and Molly Keon, Green Bay; also other relatives and friends surviving.
Survivors include two daughters: (private); two grandchildren: (private);
three great-grandchildren: (private); also other relatives and friends
surviving. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband:
James Drida, her second husband: John Bacon, five sisters and three
brothers.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 12, 2006, at the Harrigan
Parkside Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas J. Dunham officiating. The
family will greet relatives and friends from noon until the time of the
memorial service at 1 p.m.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 628 N. Water St.,
Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
Jessie's family would like to express a special thank you to all the
employees (past and present) of Kindred Hearts for all the extraordinary
loving care they provided over the past five years. You and your kindness
will never be forgotten.
