Mrs. Ella Mason, the former Ella Knorr, was born in Blanchardville on Dec. 20, 1873, the daughter of Fred and Louise Robb Knorr. She was married here in 1889 to William M. Mason, who died in 1909.

Funeral services were held Saturday (Nov 9) afternoon in the Blanchardville Methodist church with burial in Graceland cemetery.

She was a member of the Methodist church and a member of the American legion Auxiliary and a Gold Star Mother.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Millard (Nina) Loe, Blanchardville; Mrs. Pearl Mitchell, Mrs. Robert Purcell, Mrs. Mazie French and Miss Ilene Mason, all of Madison; two sisters, Mrs. Volney Smith, Blue Mounds, and Mrs. Lulu Thompson, Madison, a brother, Joseph Knorr, Blanchardville; 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a son, Murray, in World War I; two other sons, two daughters and one grandson, Ronald Loe, who died while in military service in 1957.
