Arline Amanda (Horst) Voigt departed this earth for her eternal home in heaven on Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, as she was surrounded by her loving family at RiverHills West HealthCare in Pewaukee.
Arline was born Sept. 30, 1922, in Rubicon, daughter of Edmond and Erna (Wittnebel) Horst. She was baptized into the house of our Lord at Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford, where she was also confirmed into communicate membership. She was a graduate of Hartford Union High School.
On July 3, 1942, she married Melvin H. Voigt at Peace Lutheran Church in Hartford, and moved with him to Ashippun.
For many years, she and her husband owned and operated Melvin Voigt Construction Company. After selling this business, they moved to Green Lake, and owned and operated the Bay View Motel. Later, they returned to Oconomowoc and Arline was employed at Oconomowoc City Hall for several years, retiring in 1983. At this time, they joined St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Funeral services will be held at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 818 W. Wisconsin Ave., Oconomowoc, at 11 a.m. Thursday. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
If desired, memorials are suggested to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church or the charity of one's choice.
