Lianna "Lea" Cibak-Murphy, age 57, of Portage, passed away at home on Saturday, June 28, 2003. She was preceded in death by both parents and sister, Shirley Warren. Lianna is survived by her husband, John E. Murphy of Portage; daughter, Lori (Gordon) McCormick of Burns Harbor, step-children, Mike (Elizabeth) Murphy of Glenview, IL and Lynn (Kevin) Dubbink of Byron Center, Michigan; six grandchildren: Tiffany, Brandon and Monica McCormick, Meagan Murphy and Ryan and Lauren Dubbink; three sisters, Anita Berry of Hobart, Sharon (Junior) Valdes of Oscala, FL and Patricia (Bob) Lewis of Michigan City; brothers, Robert (Iris) Meek of Brooklet, GA, Wayne Hughes of Orlando and twin brother, Lanny (Lita) Meek of Omaha, NE; numerous nieces and nephews; beloved friends Terry and Cory Cartwright of South Bend, Kathleen Russell of Boca Raton, FL, Joyce (Crit) Gilbert of Valparaiso and Kathy and Gene Keenan of Lake Station.
Lianna loved to be surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed camping, dancing and flowers.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2003 at 10:00 AM at the Burns Funeral Home, Hobart, (corner of Rt 51 & 7th St.). Rev. Gerald Walworth officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Portage. Friends may meet with the family on Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM. at the Burns Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to VNA Hospice, 501 Marquette, Valparaiso, IN.
