George W. Bennett, son of Christopher C. Bennett, was born on 25 December 1879 in Piney Flats, Tennessee. George became a mining engineer later in his life, was very well paid and had his housing provided to him by the mining companies. He married Lucinda (or Cinda) Banks, daughter of Solomon Banks, on 31 August 1905. They had four children: Norah, Virginia, Fred and Hugh. George died abruptly from a heart attack on 3 July 1930. He two grand daughters, Nell (daughter of Virginia) and June (daughter of Nora) were on his knee at that time. His wife Lucinda moved to the Detroit area and lived with daughter Virginia until her death on 12 March 1963.
