Leo Robert DeMoss, 93 of Zion at peace July 6, 2012. Born February 28, 1919 in Albia, Iowa to Alex and Amanda (Stansbury) DeMoss.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army WWII. He worked at Johns Manville in the 1950's and 1960's; then owned and operated a family restaurant in Winthrop Harbor and finally working at Leader Department Store, Zion.
Survivors include his children Gene (Roxanna) DeMoss of Huber Heights, OH, Virginia (Terry) Tiernan of Potsdam, NY, Charolotte (Laurence) Purvis of Paducah, KY, Rodney DeMoss of Kenosha, Bunnie (Kim) Sears, Amanda Renfroe both of AL, and Leithia DeMoss of Milwaukee; 25 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded by wives Alice Voigt DeMoss Weber, Brenda Stanphill DeMoss and Earlene Hull DeMoss. Visitation Sunday 7-9 pm.
Funeral Monday 10 am at Symonds-Lakes Funeral Home, 111 West Belvidere Road, Grayslake.
Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood
