C. Adams Dies At 76 In Hospital
Charles A. Adams, 76, of Oil City RD 1, Cherrytree, a retired Worthington Corp. employe, died at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday in the Oil City Hospital. Born February 14, 1893, at Coal Hill; he was the son of Mrs. Ada L. Anderson Adams and the late Charles Adams. He resided in the Oil City area most of his life. At one time, Mr. Adams operated Adams Grocery, a store in Siverly. He also later worked for Hays Baking Co. In 1958, he retired from Worthington, where he worked as a machinist. He was married October 20, 1915, to the former Irene Gardiner, who survives. Mr. Adams was a member of Cherrytree United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, Irene, and his mother, Mrs. Ada Adams of Oil City, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Doris Palmer of Plumer; three sons, Fred of Reno and Wade and William Adams, both of Seneca; two sisters, Mrs. Ila Brewster of Oil City and Miss Margaret Adams of Warren; a brother , Merle Adams of Oil City; and nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a son, Howard, in 1945.and a brother, Charles Ellis Adams, in October of 1968. Friends will be received at the Hutchinson and Morton Funeral Home from 2 lo 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Rev. Elroy Sayers, pastor of Bethel United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
