Gladys Hulda Marie "Bruns" Miller, 88, of Eureka, died on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the Eureka Nursing Center.
She was born on September 27, 1923, in Garber, Okla., the daughter of August H. and Charlotte (Meier) Bruns. She was raised in Oklahoma and later the family moved to Eureka where she graduated for Eureka High School.
On November 4, 1943, she was united in marriage to Charles Cash Miller in Saint Louis, Mo. She lived in Wichita where she worked in banking, while he served in World War II.
After his discharge the family resided in Eureka. She worked in the Greenwood County Treasures Office and the Citizens National Bank. Later they opened their business, Crystal Cleaners, in Eureka. After retirement she spent her time touring Europe, Asia and the Holy Land.
She was a member of the Lutheran Church; A long time member of the Eureka Garden Club, where she held many offices, including president.
She is survived by one son, T.G. Miller; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, and one brother.
Private memorial services were held July 6, at the Greenwood Cemetery in Eureka with Pastor Larry Cross officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
