MARY AHRENDSEN SUCCUMBS IN OLIN
Lifetime Resident Dies In Olin on October 2
OLIN...Mary Augusta Ahrendsen, daughter of Henry and Margaretha Ahrendsen, was born near Wyoming on May 23, 1891 and passed away at the home of her son, east of Lin on Oct.2, at the age of 66 years. She had lived in the Olin vicinity her entire life.
Services Noted
October 4 a family prayer service was held at the home of her son, Ervin, at 1:30 p.m., followed by services at the Olin E.U.B. church at 2 p.m. with Rev Lloyd Dutro, pastor, in charge.
Mrs. Theo Ahrendsen and Mrs. Joanna Koranda sang, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Going Down the Valley", accompanied by Mrs. Nellie Stivers at the organ. Erna Dutro, Velma Switzer and Alberta Lawson were in charge of floral tributes.
Casket bearers were Merlin Ahrendsen, Gayle Ahrendsen, Norma Ahrendsen, Hans R. Ahrendsen, Larry Jones and Virtus Rohwedder. Interment was in the Olin cemetery.
Marriage Noted
Dec. 29, 1915 she was united in marriage to John Rohwedder. One son, Ervin, was born to this union.
Mr. and Mrs. Rohwedder had farmed throughout their married life until 1944 when they moved to their home in Olin where they had lived since that time.
Club Member
Mrs. Rohwedder was a charter member of the Friendship club a member of the Alturist club and the Ladies Aid Society, the Olin E.U.B. church and had been active in the affairs of these organizations as long as her health permitted.
Survivors Told
She was preceded in death by both her parents.

She is survived by her husband, at home, son, Ervin, daughter-in-law, Elma, Oxford Junction; two granddaughters, Rita Ray Rohwedder and Donna Dee Rohwedder, two sisters, Mrs. Alvena Jones, Wyoming, and Christine Ahrendsen, Oxford Junction, and two brothers, Lorenz Ahrendsen, Oxford Junction, August Ahrendsen, Olin and a large number of nieces and nephews.
