"Here lies the corps of Phelip Cink, He wars born on the 2 day of February in the years of our Lord 1755 and he dide on the 24 of May in the years of 1829 and is ced he wars 74y 3m 22d 1755 P.Z. 1829."
The Z. in his footstone refers to the common spelling of Zinck or Zinc, which became Sink.

Sink was the fifth of eight known children of John Jacob Zinck (born: c1720 in Germany; died: c1785 in Rowan (now Davidson) County, North Carolina) and Mathilta Derrodea (went by Derrodea) Rolle (born: c1728 in Germany; died: 1798 in Rowan (now Davidson) County, North Carolina. It is not known where Derrodea is buried.
Phillip married Elizabeth Sprecher (1764-1833) in c1784 in presumably Rowan County, North Carolina. Phillip and Elizabeth were the parents of eight known children, namely:

3. Anna Maria Sink Clinard (1790-1886)
4. Philip Peter Sink (1793-1872)
5. Eve Sink Stone (1795-1896)
