Born Aug. 20, 1916, in Lone Pine, she was the daughter of A.D. and Bertha (Taylor) Curtis. She graduated from Leflore High School and received her Bachelor and Masters degrees in Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State College. She married Herbert O. Moody on Sept. 7, 1935, in Wilburton and he preceded her in death in January 1981.
She began teaching in Reichert and after three years, moved to Talihina, where she taught in the Elementary, Junior and Senior High School, as well as coaching girls basketball for over 40 years, retiring in 1980.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Business and Professional Womens Club and the Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law; two sisters; two grandsons and his wife; and a niece and several nephews.
