Bellingham Herald, The (WA) - Sunday, July 7, 2002
Elaine M. Johnson, 83, formerly of Bellingham, WA, passed away Monday, July 1, 2002, at Alliance Living Community in Anacortes, WA.

Elaine was born June 6, 1919 in Blaine, WA to Tom and Sena Berntsen. She lived most of her life in Bellingham, WA. She married Cecil O. Johnson on July 5, 1941.

Elaine was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She had a smile and a kind word for everyone. She loved to dance, play cards and most of all spend time with her family and friends. In the 60's she worked at Town and Country Casuals in Bellingham and we think working there was as much a social event for her as it was a job.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Michael Jarboe of Anacortes son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Mary Johnson of Tacoma and her special granddaughter and husband, Kirsten Jarboe-Davis and Christopher Davis of Marysville. She is also survived by numerous cousins.

Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of her life at the Bellingham Elk's Lodge on Monday, July 22, 2002 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Interment will follow at Greenacres Memorial Park. Cremation is under the direction of Evans Funeral Home, Anacortes.
