LOREN AVERY

Loren Avery, 53, of 1831 Maple St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday afternoon at home
of a coronary attack.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc,
the Rev. Donald T. Stannard officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Avery was born Aug. 21, 1911, at Nashville, Wis., son of the late Archie and
Ernestine Gross Avery. As a young man he moved to Two Rivers where he attended
schools and worked at the Two Rivers Buick Garage. He worked at the Hamacheck Co.
Garage at Manitowoc 14 years. He and his brother, Donald, owned and operated the
Avery Bros. garage on Washington Street, Manitowoc, which he continued to operate
two years after his brother's death. He then joined the employ of the Lauson
Chevrolet firm as a body man and retired in 1963 due to poor health. He married
Joyce Messman Nov. 25, 1936, at Two Rivers.
Mr. Avery was a member of the Manitowoc Masonic Lodge 65, F&AM., Manitowoc Chapter
16, R&AM, Manitowoc Council 18, R&SM, Manitowoc Commandery 45, Knights Templar,
Tripoli Shrine Club of Milwaukee and Manitowoc and Two Rivers Shrine Club.
Survivors are his wife, a daughter, (private), a son, (private), a sister, Mrs.
Lawrence Harmon, of Two Rivers, a brother, Earl, of Manitowoc, a grandchild and
nieces and nephews. Two brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday where Masonic memorial
services will be at 7:30 p.m.
