DONALD AVERY
Donald Avery, 47, of 1117 Windiate St., Manitowoc, died Saturday morning at
Holy Family Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Grace Evangelical Lutheran
Church in Manitowoc with the Rev. W. W. Gieschen officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Avery was born May 9, 1909, at Manawa, son of the late Archie and Ernestine
Avery, and moved to Two Rivers at the age of 12 with his parents. He came to
Manitowoc 23 years ago where he was employed by the Hamachek Body Shop. Ten years
ago he and a brother, Loren, opened the Avery Bros. Auto Repair Service on
Washington Street. He married the former Amanda Thielbar of Mishicot on Dec., 27,
1933.
Survivors include his wife, a son, (private); a daughter, (private); three brothers,
Loren and Virgil of Manitowoc and Earl of Two Rivers; a sister, Mrs. Lawrence Harmon
of Two Rivers; and one granddaughter.
Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday until
10:30 a.m. Monday when the body will be moved to the church.
