JOHN AUSMAN

John G. Ausman, 86, of 1017 N. 15th Street, Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning,
June 4, 1986, at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 9 am Saturday at Harrigan-Parkside Funeral Home and
9:30 am at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian
Burial will be concelebrated by Rev. Leo J. Schmitt and Rev. Edward Radey and
burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Ausman was born October 23, 1899 in the Town of Wheaton, Chippewa County,
son of the late John G. and Anna Urban Ausman. He was educated in Eau Claire
County Schools and received a Bachelor Degree from the University of Wisconsin-
Stout, Menomonie, Wisconsin, and a Master's Degree from Northwestern University,
Evanston, Illinois. Mr. Ausman spent 41 years in the field of vocational,
technical and adult education in Wisconsin teaching in Wausau and Milwaukee and
as a Coordinator in West Allis. He came to Manitowoc in 1945 to become Director
of Manitowoc School of Vocational and Technical Adult Education, remaining in
that position until retiring in 1966. Mr. Ausman was Past President of the
Manitowoc Rotary club; past president of Wisconsin Vocational Directors
Association; Secretary-Treasurer of Manitowoc Industrial Safety Council for 21
years and a member of Holy Innocents Congregation. He married Irene Bilodeau on
August 22, 1927 at Eau Claire.
Survivors include his wife, Irene; three sons and daughters-in-law, John M. and
Jane of Moraga, California; James R. and Martha of Matthews, North Carolina,
Richard P. and Nancy of Milwaukee; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren,
other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by five brothers, three
sisters and a grandson.
Friends may call at Harrigan-Parkside Funeral Home, 4 pm to 8 pm Friday where
a prayer service will be at 7:30 pm. Memorials would be appreciated to Roncalli
High School, Manitowoc.
