MARJORIE MAE AUMANN

Marjorie Mae Aumann, age 81, (photo) of Manitowoc, died Wednesday,
Aug. 10, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rhinelander.
She was born Dec. 9, 1923 in Manitowoc, to Alfred C. and Albie I.
(Miller) Plinske. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1941,
and attended business school in Manitowoc. She married Paul F.
Aumann on Feb. 7, 1947, after a correspondence courtship during
World War II. He preceded her in death in August 1990.
Marj was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of
Manitowoc, where she sang in the Chancel Choir for 65 years. She
was known for singing solos for many weddings and funerals during
those years. She served a term as a church elder. She enjoyed
attending concerts and following the bands and musical groups in
which her husband and children participated. She enjoyed visiting
Wisconsin's north woods and fishing on the lakes. Her playful
teasing and sense of humor will be missed by those who knew her.
She was employed as a bookkeeper at JC Penny, Rahr Malting,
Sherwin-Williams Paints, and later at Oriental Milling Co. After
retirment, she was a volunteer for many years in the office of
her church.
Marjorie is survived by one daughter; two sons; two grandsons; one
great-grandson; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law (Survivors
omitted for privacy.); cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives,
and many friends at her church.
In addition to her husband, Marjorie was preceded in death by her
parents and her brother: Myron D. "Mike" Plinske.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 20, 2005,
at First Presbyterian Church, 502 N. Eighth St., Manitowoc. The
Rev. Dr. Matthew L. Sauer will officiate. Burial to follow at
Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation for Mrs. Aumann will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19,
at the Jens Family Funeral Home, 1122 S. Eighth St., Manitowoc, and
also at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorials in Marjorie's name can be made to First Presbyterian Church
Music Ministries.
