WIDOW DIES IN CITY, 82 YEARS
Mrs. Bertha Arnold To Be Buried On Monday
Mrs. Bertha Arnold, of 910 South Seventh street, sister of the late Charles E.
Spindler, died this morning. She was 82 years of age and had been in failing
health for several weeks. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at
two o'clock from the Vogelsang Funeral home, Eighth and Marshall streets, and
will be private.
The deceased, whose maiden name was Bertha Spindler, was born in Germany, May 30,
1846, having observed her eighty-second birthday on Memorial Day. She came to
America after growing to womanhood and was married in this city to John Arnold,
a representative of the express company here for years. He passed away 20 years
ago.
One daughter, Mrs. Emma H. Stewart, city, two sons, Walter Jacobs, of Holyoke,
Mass., and Harry Joseph Arnold of Seattle, Wash., one sister, Mrs. Linnie Olsen,
of Seattle, Wash., six grandchildren and two great grandchildren survive.
The remains may be viewed at the Vogelsang funeral home until noon on Monday.
