JOSEPH A. ANHALT

J.A. Anhalt, 57, of 2224 Markham St., Manitowoc, died Monday at St.
Luke Hospital, Milwaukee.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral
Home and 10 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev.
Leo J. Schmitt will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mr. Anhalt was born Jan. 18, 1915, at Grimms, son of the late William
and Elsie Mahlock Anhalt. He was a graduate of Valders High School with
the Class of 1933. He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II in the
Asiatic-Pacific area. He began his employment with Eastman Manufacturing
Co., which is now Imperial Eastman Corp., in 1941. He married Kathryn L.
Jagemann July 24, 1943, at Manitowoc.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 710, Elks Lodge 687
and Branch River Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, two sons and a daughter (Survivors omitted
for privacy.); three brothers, Henry, Owen and William, of Manitowoc;
five sisters, Mrs. August Walber, of Chilton, Mrs. Alvin Adelman, of
Manitowic, Mrs. John Lettenberger, of Brookfield, Mrs. Richard Schmitt,
of Appleton and Mrs. Ralph Benversie, of Valders and two grandsons. A
brother, Bernard, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday where a
wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Heart
Fund or Roncalli Health Career Scholarship Fund.
