ESTHER HILDA (ZAPFE) ANHALT

Esther H. Anhalt, age 85, a resident of St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc, died Tuesday
evening, June 13, 2006, at St. Mary's Home.
She was born Sept. 26, 1920, in the town of Newton, daughter of the late Willmar
and Lilly (Wilde) Zapfe. On June 15, 1946, she married Michael E. Anhalt in
Manitowoc. He preceded her in death Jan. 4, 1982. After their marriage, the couple
made their home in Manitowoc. Esther was a member of First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a daughter: Ruth Haese, Manitowoc; a son: Allan Anhalt, Phoenix,
Ariz.; and a sister and brother-in-law: Lorene and Charles Eucher, Muscatine, Iowa.
Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was
also preceded in death by a son-in-law: James Haese on Feb. 22, 2006.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 19, 2006, at the Pfeffer
Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will
be the Rev. David Rosenow with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation
Care Center, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. Monday, June 19, 2006, until the time of service
at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to First German
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Richard Theobald and the staff
of St. Mary's Home, especially Center Two, for the care and compassion extended to
Esther. Also, a special thank you to Pastor Hahm and Pastor Resenow for their many
visits with Mom.
