T. E. (sic) ANDERSON DIES; FUNERAL TO BE FRIDAY
Former County Treasurer and Retired Business Man Succumbs At 81
Theodore E. Anderson, 81, former county official and retired business man, and
prominent for years in fraternal circles, died Wednesday night. He had been in
failing health for several months.
Funeral services under the auspices of the Elks lodge, will be held Friday at
2 p.m., from the Pfeffer funeral home. The Rev. Ernst Zoerb of the First Lutheran
church will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Served as Treasurer
Mr. Anderson was born in Manitowoc Rapids in 1859 and when a young man took up
farming and later came to this city. He was associated for years as a salesman
for the L. J. Anderson Company, farm machinery dealers. In 1912 he was elected
county treasurer on the Democratic ticket and served two terms.
In 1917 he engaged in the farm machinery business and became associated with
Henry J. Zinkel under the name of the Anderson-Zinkel company. He retired in
1935.
Mr. Anderson married Miss Mayme Muth in 1903. She died several years ago.
Mr. Anderson was one of the early members of Manitowoc lodge No. 687, B.P.O.E.,
joining the order in 1901. He advanced through all the chairs to become exalted
ruler. He represented the lodge at numerous state and national gatherings.
Members of the lodge will be pallbearers at the funeral services tomorrow.
Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Charles Fehrmann of Manitowoc Rapids, and Mrs.
Hans Halverson of Sawyer, Wis.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home after 7 p.m. tonight until the hour
of services Friday.
