Nels T. (sic) Anderson 68, retired truck driver, died suddenly of a
heart attack shortly before noon today. He was enroute to his home,
710 North Tenth street, from a visit downtown to make purchases when
he collapsed at the corner of Ninth and St. Clair street.
Moved to the Holy Family hospital in the city ambulance, Mr. Anderson
was pronounced dead on entrance.
Mr. Anderson was a lifelong resident of Manitowoc and in 1898 enlisted
in Company H of the Wisconsin National Guard for service in the Spanish-
American war. He married Miss Rose Kovarik of Gibson after his return
from service.
He was employed for years as teamster and truck driver by the Oriental
Mills, and retired from active work six years ago.
Survivors are the widow; two brothers, Carl and Andrew, both of this city;
three sisters, Mrs. Frank Johnson, of this city, Mrs. Ida Isaacson, and
Mrs. Caroline Isaacson, both of Amherst, Wis.
The body was moved to the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home. Funeral
arrangements will be announced Saturday.

Funeral services for Nels Anderson, 710 N. 9th street, who died Friday,
will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Wattawa, Urbanek
and Schlei funeral home and at 2 o'clock at St. Paul's Lutheran church.
The Rev. R.B. Walden will officate (sic) and burial will be in Evergreen
cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home from Sunday noon
until the hour of the funeral
Mr. Anderson was a Spanish American war veteran. The Veterans of Foreign
Wars will conduct military rites.
Mr. Anderson was born Oct. 20, 1872, in this city. He married Miss Rose
Kovarek Jan. 30, 1901. She survives with two brothers, Andrew and Charles,
both of this city, and three sisters, Mrs. F.R. Johnson of this city and
Mrs. Ola Isaacson and Mrs. Caroline Isaacson, both of Amherst Junction,
Wis.
