Mrs. Chas. Allwardt Dies At Home After Illness of 2 Years
Mrs. Charles Allwardt, a resident of Manitowoc since 1867, when she
came here from Germany with her parents, passed away Monday afternoon
at the family home, 1225 South Ninth street, after a lingering illness
of two year's duration. Her maiden name was Caroline Miller and she was
born in Germany in 1845. She was married to Charles Allwardt Nov. 15,
1868, who will be 90 years of age next Sunday, survives her together
with three sons, Charles and George of Kaukauna and John of this city,
also survive. Burial will take place Thursday afternoon at one-thirty
from the South Ninth street home and at two o'clock from the German
Lutheran church, with interment at Evergreen cemetery.
