TALMADGE ALECKSEN

Talmadge "Tom" Alecksen, age 93, formerly of 3409 Dale St., Manitowoc died
Sunday, August 27, 2000. Private Family Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m.
Tuesday, August 29, 2000 at the First Lutheran Chapel, 521 North Eighth St.,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Steven D. Olson will officiate, with burial at Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Talmadge was born August 19, 1907 at Gjerpen, son of the late Lars and Georgina
Rudie Aslakson. He was educated at Manitowoc and employed at the Mirro Co. from
1929 until he retired in 1969. He married Mildred "Millie" Sengbusch Feb. 6,
1928 at Waukegan, Ill. Millie preceded him in death in 1976. Talmadge was a
member of First Lutheran Church, F. & A.M. Manitowoc Lodge #65, member of the
York Rite Bodies of Manitowoc, Two Rivers, Shrine Club, Manitowoc Senior Citizens
Center and Golden K. Kiwanis, Manitowoc. A man of many interests, he loved his
family.
Survivors include a Son and Daughter-in-law: Richard and Betty Alecksen, Manitowoc;
his grandchildren: April (Terry) Miller, Manitowoc and their children, Jaime and
Katie; Lars (Doria) Alecksen, Eatonton, GA., and their children, Erica and Charles;
Tove Alecksen, serving in the U.S. Navy. One Brother and Three Sisters-in-law:
Westy and Irene Alecksen, Sand Bay, WI.; Ruth Alecksen, Manitowoc and Rita Alecksen,
Portland, Oregon. Nieces, nephews other relatives and friends also survive. He was
preceded in death by his wife Millie, an infant daughter Donna Jean and by five
brothers and sisters.
Memorials to First Lutheran Church or the Shriners Hospital for Children would be
appreciated. Jens Family Funeral Home, 1122 South 8th St., Manitowoc is serving
the family.
Talmadge led a useful, interesting and productive life, what more could a man want.
