FORMER GLENDO PUBLISHER DIES

M. R. Merrill, 77, former publisher of the Glendo Guide, and a resident of Douglas the past three years, passed away October 15 at the Wheatland General hospital following a two weeks' illness.

Mr. Merrill, a resident of Platte county since 1902, last year continued publishing the Glendo paper after selling his equipment to parties of Sheridan. In July he moved to Wheatland.

He was born in Lancaster county, Nebr., in 1863. He was always active in newspaper work, and was the founder of the Laramie County Times, now the Wheatland Times.

Surviving are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. R. A. Ferguson of Wheatland and Mrs. Ruth Watkins of Long Beach, Calif.

Funeral services were held October 17 at Wheatland. Burial was in the Wheatland cemetery.
