Emma was born 27 Nov 1864 and baptized as Emmaline Elizabeth Steigerwalt on 9 Jan 1865 at the Reformed Church, West Penn Twp., Schuylkill County, Pa. Her parents are Nathan Steigerwalt and his wife Rebecca Krumm. Emma married on 15 Mar 1884 David Michael Kleckner, son of John Kleckner and Abigail Houser. David was born 12 Mar 1864 in East Brunswick Twp., Schuylkill County, Pa., and died 3 June 1910 at Delano, Schuylkill County, Pa. Emma Steigerwalt Kleckner died 17 Aug 1933 at Reading, Berks County, Pa. Emma was the mother of 9 children: Stella Olivia, Austin Irvin, Eva May, Cora Abbey, Clara Rebecca, Albert Stanley, Milton W., Russell Roland, and Emma Ruth. Her obituary in the Reading Eagle newspaper reads:
Emma E. (Steigerwalt), widow of David Kleckner, died Thursday at her home, 821 Ritter street, aged 68 years. She was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. There survive these children: Stella and Eva Kleckner, at home; Emma, wife of Edwin Haas, at home; Austin Kleckner, Sinking Spring; Cora, wife of William James, and Albert Kleckner, Reading; Milton Kleckner, Detroit, Mich.; and Russell Kleckner, Reading. There survive 14 grandchildren,
three brothers: Willis and David Steigerwalt, in Schuylkill
county; and Charles Steigerwalt, in Ohio.
