April 19 - This community was filled with sorrow Wednesday afternoon when announcement was made that little Ruth Strothman, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Strothman, had passed away at the Lynch hospital in Fairbury. Ruth had been ill for more than two years from lung infection, due to a severe attack of pneumonia which she suffered a little over two years ago. She was taken to the hospital on Tuesday evening where on Wednesday morning she underwent an operation from which she never rallied. Mr. and Mrs. Strothman and family have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
