Retired Congregational clergyman born in Acworth, NH in 1796. Graduate of Darthmouth College and Andover Theological Seminary. In 1825 he became pastor of the First Congregational Church in Gilmanton, NH and later became pastor of the Centre Congregational Church of the same place. For five years he was chaplain of the New Hampshire Legislature, and afterward of the New Hampshire Insane Asylum. He was in Middletown for five years before going to New York. He was instrumental in organizing the Darthmouth Alumni Association in New York City.
Survived by a widow, a son and a daughter.

Rev. Daniel Lancaster married his second wife, Eliza Gibbs Greely (Greeley), in New Hampshire on the 14 Feb 1831. At the time of their marriage, they were living in Gilmanton, NH.
