Mrs. Raymond (Margaret) Luisier, age 82, of 1941 Sharon Lane, Manitowoc, died Friday afternoon, March 4, 2011, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center of Manitowoc.
The former Margaret Urbanek was born on July 14, 1928, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Charles “Cy” and Florence (Forst) Urbanek. She was a 1946 graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School in Manitowoc. Margaret continued her education at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee and graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. She then attended school in Chicago and became a Radiology Technician. Margaret worked for 37 years as a Radiology Technician for the Allen-Bradley Corporation, later known as Rockwell Automation. On May 20, 1989 (sic), Margaret was married to Raymond E. Luisier at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Manitowoc.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and the Allen-Bradley retirees. Margaret and Ray enjoyed traveling and bird watching. She deeply enjoyed her boxer dogs that she owned over the years especially her Dutchess. Margaret truly enjoyed her community, Manitowoc.
Survivors include her husband: Raymond E. Luisier of Manitowoc; three stepsons and daughters-in-law: James R. (Sue) Luisier of LaPeer, Mich., Dr. David P. Stacey) Luisier of Fort Atkinson and Daniel J. (Ann) Luisier of Manitowoc; two step-daughters and sons-in-law: Jennifer L. (Carl) Martin of Fort Atkinson and Linda Rae (Tom) Backus of Manitowoc; 14 step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Alvin (Dorthe) Luisier of Manitowoc; special cousin: Marvin (Gertrude) Kuehl of Kewaunee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents: Charles “Cy” and Florence Urbanek and one brother-in-law: Clifford Luisier.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011, at St. Francis of Assisi, Waldo Boulevard site. The Rev. Daniel Felton will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow at Evergreen cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from noon until the time of services at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated for Holy Family Memorial Medical Center or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Reinbold & PFeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is serving the Luisier family. Online condolences can be sent to www.jensreinboldandpfeffer.com.
