Avin Janes, was born March 9, 1929, in Dirigo, KY. He was the son of the late George and Sophia Petty Janes. He went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 21, 2010, at the Russell County Emergency Room in Russell Springs, KY, at the age of 81 years, 2 months, and 12 days.
The funeral service will be Monday, May 24, 2010, at 11amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Lonny Karnes and Bro. Brian Fudge officiating. Burial will be in the Sparksville Baptist Church Cemetery, 9401 Burkesville RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation is after 4:30pmCT, Sunday, May 23, 2010, at the funeral home.
Casket bearers: Buck Rowe, Perry Reeder, Elmo Petty, Lewis Parnell, Telsie Fudge, and Larry Brown.
He had been a resident of Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown for a few years.
'He was a member of the Sparksville Church of the Nazarene for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Geneva Stotts Janes, Cane Valley, KY, and the following: His daughter and son-in-law: Angela and Steve Smith, Cane Valley, KY
One brother and one sister: Kenneth Janes, Columbia, KY; and Jean Bailey, Bloomfield, KY
He was preceded in death by his son, Dwight Janes, and his sister, Geneva Brown.
