Per Mike's cousin, Sheila Gray: Thomas Michael "Mike" Baker was born in Fulton, Missouri, to Jesse R. "Tommy" Baker #98797548 and Pattie Dean (Foster) Baker #23553534. Mike's grandparents were Cornelias and Mary (Nichols) Baker and Raymond and Callie (Nichols) Foster.

Per FAG contributor, Scott E. Dodson: Thomas was in Company C 1st BN 52nd Infantry 198 Inf BDE Americal DIV.

Per FAG contributor, Marsha Williams Byrd: The Fulton Sun (newspaper) ran an article written by Jessica Stone and published on July 3, 2015, titled "New Era Of Veterans To Be Honored In July 4 Fulton Parade" which includes Thomas Baker. Thomas and nine other Callaway County Vietnam veterans who were killed in action will be remembered in the Fulton Independence Day parade.

Corporal Thomas Michael Baker began his tour on February 4, 1968 and served as an infantryman. According to the Virtual Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall he was killed by enemy fire on May 19, 1968 in Quang Tin Province, South Vietnam and he was laid to rest in Callaway County, MO.

Corporal Baker's brother, Bobby Baker and possibly another brother will be riding in a convertible with a banner on the side to receive individual recognition for their brother, Thomas. Thomas's name, date of birth, rank, military branch and his date of death will be listed on the banner.
