Husband of Elizabeth (Freese) Malone (1813-1874). Alkana and Elizabeth were married on July 14, 1831 in Fairfield County, Ohio. They had twelve children together including: John, Lydia, Jacob, Rachel, Lewis, Mary, Caroline, Harvey, Edward, Perry, Adaline and Amanda Malone. Alkana enlisted Sept. 28, 1861 in the Union Army - 13th Iowa Infantry, Co. C as a wagonneer. He died at the Battle of Shiloh on April 6, 1862. Alkana was 54 years old.
