Albert. E. "Jack" Godbee, 91, of Nesmith passed away on July 21, 2012.
He was born on September 18, 1920 in Cullman County, Alabama to John Thomas Godbee and Minnie Ester Harbison Godbee. He attended school at Addison High School and was a lifelong member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where he served as deacon for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by his sons, Wendell (Brenda) Godbee, Barry Godbee, Bruce Godbee, Chris (Tina) Godbee, Tom (Cindy) Godbee; daughters, Joy (Don) Lindley, Gleta (Wallace) Dickey; sisters, Lurlene (Nathan) Parris, Hazel Haynes, Keneith Tolbert; he was Paw Paw Jack to 15 grandchildren, Kim Robinson, Sonya Holmes, Jennifer Stewart, Lynn Tuggle, David Godbee, Byron Miller, Adam Godbee, Kristin Godbee, Brett Godbee, Kaleb Godbee, Ben Godbee, Winston Godbee, Candiace Morgan, Kayra Everett, Trent Godbee; and 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Denson Godbee; parents, Tom and Minnie Godbee; brother, Bert Godbee, sister, Iva Glover; grandson, Brian Miller, and granddaughter, Meredith Godbee.
