LeRoy H. Aaker, 61, Grand Forks, N.D. died Monday, January 19, 2004 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.

LeRoy Harlan Aaker was born in Grand Forks on February 22, 1942, the son of Harlan and Constance (Maristuen) Aaker.

LeRoy was a world class guitarist who performed with many famous names in Nashville in the 70's and also with many local musicians over the years.

He was the only man from Grand Forks to ever fight in a tough man contest in Fargo, N.D.

His love for sports such as boxing, baseball, and hockey was enormous. He graduated from Central High School in 1960 and was also a guitar instructor.

He attended college in Minneapolis, MN. LeRoy owned and operated Aaker's Music in Grand Forks.

Survivors include: Mother Constance Aaker-Cannon, Grand Forks; Soul Mate: Joyce Aaker, Grand Forks; Sons: James (RaNae) Aaker, Grand Forks; Joshua Aaker, Grand Forks; Jason Aaker, Grand Forks. Daughters: Tammy Aaker-Jondahl, East Grand Forks, Michelle (Darwin) Ellingson, Grand Forks; Angela Aaker, East Grand Forks. Brothers: Jon (Terry) Aaker, Class of '61, Grand Forks; Thomas Aaker, Class of '65, Grand Forks; Lanny, Class of '67, Grand Forks; Sister: Connie Jo Aaker Dostal, Class of Red River '74, Grand Forks; twelve grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his father, Harlan.

Services were held Saturday, January 24, 2004 at 1 p.m. in Bethel Lutheran Church. Visitation was Friday, January 23, 2004, from 4 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. in Amundson Funeral Home.

Interment was in Middle Grove Lutheran Cemetery.
