John G. McGuire Dies Here After Brief Illness

John G. McGuire, age 71, a retired employe of the Indiana Gas and Water Company, died this morning in his home, 2312 Plum St., following a brief illness.
Mr. McGuire had resided in New Castle for the past 28 years and was employed by the gas company for 22 years, retiring 3 years ago.
He was a member of Proctor Lodge #213 F&AM, at Beattyville, IN and the Christian Church here.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Emma McGuire; two sons: Ivan McGuire of New Castle and Willard McGuire of Spiceland; four grandchildren; two brothers: Scott T. McGuire of Austin and Charles P. McGuire of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Main and Sons Funeral Home after 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. Services will be conducted in the funeral home Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend R. Melvyn Thompson officiating. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery.
