Lisa Diane Hatch, 52, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 16, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by her loving family. The rosary will be 7:00 P.M., Friday, July 20, 2012 at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Sacred Heart Cathedral with Msgr. Robert Bush as celebrant. Lisa was born March 18, 1960 in Borger, Texas to Joe and Maxine Looney Richards. Lisa grew up in Borger and also lived in Dumas, Texas. She met and later married the love of her life Brian Scott Hatch on January 2, 1991 in Dalhart, Texas and they were blessed with 21 beautiful years of marriage together. Lisa graduated from the Panhandle Regional Law Enforcement Academy in 1989. She became the Director of the Moore County Work Release Center in Dumas, Texas while reserving as a Deputy Sheriff for Hutchison County. Upon the transfer of the work release center to the Moore County Sheriff's office, Lisa attended and graduated from a corrections officer's school. She then transferred to the Moore County Sheriff's Office. She worked as a corrections officer in the jail, a Bailiff for the County Court at Law and District Court, and was the first female patrol deputy for Moore County. After leaving the Moore County Sheriff's Office she worked at Panhandle Community Services while continuing her education at Amarillo College School of Mortuary Science. She graduated Valedictorian from Amarillo College with an Associate's Degree in Applied Science earning 7 honors and having a GPA of 3.98. Lisa's numerous honors included, Phi Theta Kappa, Outstanding Mortuary Science Major, National Dean's Honor Roll and Who's Who in American Junior Colleges. Lisa scored the highest score recorded in the State on her State Board Examination and received recognition from the State. in addition, she achieved record highs in three of the seven areas of the National Board and received recognition as well. Immediately following graduation, she went to work for Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger, Texas where she served her apprenticeship and became licensed as a Funeral Director and Embalmer in the State of Texas. Lisa then moved to San Angelo where she worked at Johnson's Funeral Home for over 5 years. Lisa was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and loyal friend. She devoted her life to her family and friends and the people she worked side by side with. She loved people from all walks of life and would always find a way to help others. She never met a stranger and was always giving love and support to the people she knew regardless of her circumstances. She herself would support and encourage others even during her own personal battle with cancer. She was always quick with a laugh and had an incredible smile that would cheer up the whole room where ever she went. As a funeral director, she supported, loved and comforted families during their time of need effortlessly and was exceptional in her field. Lisa was blessed with being from a family of truly gifted musician's and entrepreneurs. She herself was an amazing pianist and singer. Her family played many show's for others while growing up and living in the panhandle. One of her favorite hobbies was restoring old dolls and giving them to people to love. Lisa was a licensed HAM Radio operator with her call letters of KF5ENF. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Maxine, her sons, Andrew Hatch, and Derek Sheppard, and her Sister-in-law, Jami Hatch. Lisa is survived by her loving family, Husband Brian Hatch, of San Angelo; her Sons, Freddie Leonard Hatch and his wife Adriana, of San Antonio, and Lorenzo Scott Lee Hatch, of San Angelo; her Sister and Brother-in-law, Kathy and Joe Reed, of Borger, TX; her Brother and Sister-in-law Danny and Carie Richards, of Borger, TX; Sister's-in-law, Stacy Carpenter and her husband Darren, of Waxahachie, TX and Stephanie Riggs and her husband Dell, of Houston, TX; numerous nieces and nephews, other family members, "her special chilrens" and her "Zoo Animals," Sophia, Bonnie, Zelda and Fancy.
The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of San Angelo or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, South Central Texas Chapter, 431 Isom Road, Suite #125, San Antonio, Texas 78216.
