Ronald J. Adkins, 74, of Manistique, Michigan died July 19, 2012 at the Schoolcraft Medical Care Facility in Manistique.

He was born August 14, 1937 in Manistique Township, the son of Charles and Alma (Orman) Adkins and attended Manistique area schools. During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army.

Ron spent many years in the Cadillac, Michigan area and moved to Manistique in the early 1990's.

On August 8, 1998 he married the former Dorothy M. Williams in Germfask.

Ron was self-employed as a Master Electrician for many years and lastly worked at Hoholik's, Inc. prior to his retirement.

He was a member of the Manistique Eagles Club and the Schoolcraft County V.F.W. He enjoyed playing pool, and watching Nascar. In his earlier years, he raced street-stock cars.

Ron is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Adkins of Manistique; his children and step-children; grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brothers and sisters; along with several nieces and nephews.

There will be no services held at this time.
