LaVerne was born October 13, 1923 at Johnsonville, IL to Nelson and Violet Cleo (Pennington) Grubb). He married Imogene Dunahoo January 15, 1957 at Cisne, IL.
LaVerne was a retired painter and carpenter. He loved nature and built houses in Arizona and Florida as well as several in this area. He was a WWII veteran and a member of the Pleasant Hill 'Brick' Missionary Baptist church at Mt. Erie where he was a Sunday School Superintendent and taught different Sunday School Classes.
LaVerne is survived by his wife Imogene Grubb; two nieces Ronda Bezroukoff and Sandy Kessler; one nephew Ronnie Grubb; one sister Geraldine Knight and one brother Bob Grubb.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Services for LaVerne Grubb was held at the Hosselton Funeral Home in Cisne, Illinois.
Burial in the Koontz Cemetery Fairfield, Illinois.
