Virginia May Asay Guymon, 88, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012, at the Heritage Home in Preston, Idaho.

She was born Jan. 24, 1924, in Hiawatha, Utah, to Charles Asay and Ardra Anna Corliss. She attended school in Hiawatha and at Mt. Pleasant High School and went to the University of Utah for two years. She married Glendon J. Guymon on July 14, 1943, in the Manti LDS Temple.

Virginia was an avid reader and loved photography and scrapbooking. She enjoyed gardening and had beautiful handwork. She was active in the LDS Church and served in various positions including Young Women and Relief Society president, and was a teacher in other organizations as well.

She is survived by her children, V. June Guymon of Logan, Utah, Kathleen (Jim) Robinson of Preston, Idaho, and Paul David (Cindy) Guymon of Chrystal Lake, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glendon; and three brothers, Corliss Asay, James Asay and Lyle Asay.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at the Webb Funeral Home chapel, 1005 S. 800 East, Preston, with Bishop Todd Peterson conducting. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com.
