"Joseph F. Erne, 78, Milan Health and Hospitality Center, and formerly of Batesville, died Sunday afternoon at the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg.
"Mr. Erne was born Jan. 14, 1903, in Batesville, the son of Frank and Mary Spiegel Erne. He was a retired factory employee of the Romweber Company. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Knights of St. John in Batesville.
"He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Omer (Petronilla) Burdeck, Oldenburg; three nieces and four nephews.
"He was preceded in death by one brother, Herman Erne, and one sister, Rose Ollier.
"The mass of resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville with Father Robert Hofer officiting and with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today with a rosary at 7 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville.
