Miss Edith Gillispie was born to Warren and Mary Gillispie on August 11, 1881, at Bosworth, Missouri. She moved with her parents to Kansas in 1891 where she lived until 1900. She then moved to Oklahoma and lived in the Midway community until a few years ago when she moved to Durham. In 1954 she went to Cheyenne where she resided until her death. She passed away at the home of her niece Mrs. Albert Hartley near Reydon, February 19, 1956.
She leaves three brothers, Sam Gillispie, Elk City; Tom Gillispie, Shamrock, Texas; and Lawrence Gillispie, Fresno, California; one sister, Mrs. Linnie Hickerson of Bosworth, Missouri; nineteen nephews and nieces, other relatives and a host of friends. Two brothers preceded her in death.
Miss Gillispie was a Christin and spent much of her life in unselfish service for those near and dear to her. She reared one nephew from infancy and took care of her aged father until his death. She was loved and admired by all who knew her intimately.
