Karen MargretheAndersen 8/12/18 ~ 12/20/02 Karen Andersen passed away December 20, 2002 at the age of 84. She was born Aug 12, 1918 in Mariager, Randers, Denmark to Jens Peder Adolph Jensen and Betty Albertsen. Karen married Peder Andersen May 6, 1944 in Copenhagan Denmark. Karen and Peder later immigrated to Canada in 1947 and again to Salt Lake City in 1965. Karen was an active and faithful member of the LDS Church. She held many teaching positions throughout her life and was an expert genealogist and Danish translator for the LDS Church. Karen was blessed with eight children whom she loved dearly. She took joy in their accomplishments and sorrowed along side of them in their times of trial. In her later years she and Peder loved to travel to interesting places around the world. She loved to garden and enjoyed the beauty of nature. Karen loved life and lived it with vigor. We look forward to the day we will be united again. Karen is survived by her daughters, Birgitte (Robert) Whiting, Annamarie Andersen, Vibeke Andersen, Gertrud (Wayne) Guest; sons, Norman (Cathy) Andersen, Eskild (Charlotte) Andersen, Torsten (Debra) Andersen; sisters, Verna Jorgensen, Anni Diurhuus; 12 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Peder; and son, Oluf. Services will be 12 noon Mon. Dec 23, 2002 Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Dr. Family and friends may call 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to the service Mon. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park..
