She was born on May 27, 1949 in Kern County, CA and was the daughter of the late Wilbur Roy and Shirley Belle Hammond Jackson.
She was a dedicated member of Mt Zion Presbyterian Church in Rose Hill.
Surviving are her devoted husband of 42 years, Clayton Herring of the home; sons, Scott Herring of Surf City, Chris Herring and wife, Fayth of Wallace; granddaughters, Jonae' Herring and Taylor Herring of Wallace; brother, Steve Jackson and wife, Cheryl of D'Iberville, MS and numerous nieces, newphews and friends whom she loved.
Karen was a loving wife and caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her family dearly, especially her granddaughters, who were the light of her life. Karen was one who put the needs of others before her own. She was a servant to her community in numerous ways, including being a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician for 20 years. With great dedication and commitment, she was employed with Richard Burrows and Fredric Hall at Burrows & Hall Attorneys at Law for over 40 years. Karen loved the Lord, lived her life by His Word and set a Christian example to all who knew her. She loved dearly and was dearly loved. Karen will surely be missed but cherished memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Memorial service will be 3:00 pm Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Brian Doles officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Friday evening, July 20, 2012 at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home in Wallace and other times at Clayton and Karen's home.
