Mrs. Ray had lived in Terry for 35 years, coming from Jackson. She had worked with Mississippi Insurers for 21 years as an agent. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist and attended First Baptist of Terry. Mrs. Ray loved horses and was a member of the Arabian Horse Association and the American Quarter Horse Association. She also enjoyed riding motorcycles.
She is survived by her husband, Austin Ray; her son, Lynn Ray and wife Janlyn, all of Terry; daughters, Sharon Denise Hood and husband Robert of Jackson, and Debra Kaye Shaw and husband Carl of Hendersonville, N.C.; brother, Henry Kerr and wife Sue of Valdosta, Ga.; sister, Peggy Clinton and husband Jim of McCool; and three grandchildren.
