Mrs. Josephine Cook, 60, a prominent resident of Cutler, Indiana and Democrat Township communities, died Friday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, following a five week's illness.
Born near Cutler, Indiana, on January 14, 1899, she was the daughter of Joseph and Matilda Maggart Thompson. Her marriage in 1915 was to Joseph Cook, former trustee of Democrat Township, Carroll County, Indiana. She was a member of the Ball Hill Methodist Church.
Surviving with the husband are four sons: Harold of Route 3, Flora; William of St. Charles, Missouri; Robert of Frankfort; and Mark of Route 1, Cutler; four daughters: Virginia Brower of Flora; Mrs. Willis Best of Marion; Mrs. Walter Squier of Cutler and Bonnie at home; a sister, Mrs. Charles Mitchell and a brother, Leslie Thompson, both of Route 2, Cutler.
Funeral rites were conducted Monday from the Cutler Presbyterian Church with Reverend Thomas Russell officiating. Burial was in Ball Hill Cemetery. Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
