Socialite and Philanthropic icon on New York. Wife of William F. Buckley Jr. Mother of author Christopher Taylor Buckley. Philanthropist and prolific fundraiser for numerous charities. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia to her parents: Austin Cotterell Taylor and Kathleen Elliott Taylor. Her father was a self-made industrialist whose racehorse Indian Broom competed against Seabiscuit. Patricia Alden Austin Taylor met William F. Buckley Jr. while she was attending Vassar College in New York in 1948, sharing a room at the college with William's younger sister, Patricia. She left college to marry William on July 6th, 1950 and gave birth to their only son, Christopher in 1952.
