"Death came suddenly on Sunday at her home in Stratford to Mrs. Lyman Potter at the age of 65.
The former Mary Annie Harburn was born in Hibbert township, her parents being the late Mr. and Mrs. James Harburn. She lived in Staffa and Downie township for many years, moving to Stratford 16 years ago. She was employed by Standard Products for 12 years, retiring in 1976.
The late Mrs. Potter was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Brodhagen, and of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans' Association.
Her first husband, Edward Brodhagen, passed away in 1958 and her second husband, in 1966. Surviving are four sons, John Brodhagen, RR 1, Gadshill; Lorne, Bernard and Lloyd Brodhagen, all of Stratford; six daughters, Myrtle, Mrs. Allen Steckly, Carlingford; Marlene, Mrs. Donald Fraser, Stratford; Donna Brodhagen, RR 5, Stratford; Betty, Mrs. William Knott, Stratford; Linda, Mrs. Jack Massey, St. Marys; and Judy, Mrs. Thomas Jepson, Stratford; two brothers Henry Harburn, Staffa; and Marvin Harburn, Tampa, Florida; one sister, Hilda, Mrs. Roy Smale, Hensall; 24 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by an infant son, a brother Frank and a sister Evelene.
The Ladies' Auxiliary Veterans' Assn. held a Memorial service at the Heinbuck funeral home, Stratford Tuesday night and the funeral service is being held there today. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Brodhagen."
