PRICE - Our beloved Helen Melva Young, 82, returned to her heavenly home Jan. 14, 2003 in Price.

She was born March 2, 1920 in Antelope, to James R. and Mima Peacock Keele. She was married to Thomas B. Carroll May 6, 1941 and later they were sealed together in the Manti LDS Temple. He passed away and she later married Grant L. Smith.

She loved to travel and visit with family and friends and enjoyed reading.

She was a department manager with Price Trading Company and then loved working for many years as a teacher in the Head Start program, and retired as an assistant manager with Yellow Front Stores. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including relief society, primary, a mission to the Little Rock, Ark., Mission and served as a temple worker in the Manti LDS Temple.

She will be deeply missed by children, James T. (Sharon) Carroll, DeVere K. (Susan R. ) Smith, both of Price; and sister, Ruby Burrola of Price. Also five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and special friends. She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Thomas; four brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call for a visitation at Fausett Mortuary in Price Friday, Jan. 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 18, in the Price LDS Stake Center. Interment, Price City Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
