PLYMOUTH BANK PRESIDE DIES



John I Beelman, 71, president of the Peoples National Bank of Plymouth, died unexpectedly at his home in the village shortly after noon Friday. He had been in impaired health for three or four years, but was at the Bank on Wednesday. He died while talking to a visitor, from a heart attack.
Mr. Beelman was born in the house in Richmond Twp, now owned by Gust Ritz and went to work when a young man in the Plymouth Bank. He had been connected with the bank for 52 years, and last 12 as President.
He was the son of Daniel and Susan Upp Beelman, early settlers of Richmond-Twp. His first wife, the former Edith Buck, died in 1940 and later he married, Mrs. Mary Harris of North Fairfield. His father and Elmer Beelman of Willard, were cousins.
Surviving are the widow; three daughters, Mrs. A. E. Brumbach of Shelby, Mrs Webber Bevier of Wellington and Miss Thelma Beelman of Columbus and one son Harry B. of Chicago.
The funeral was held, Sunday afternoon at the McQuate funeral home and burial was in the Plymouth Cemetery. Attending the funeral from Willard, were President J. E. Wise and Vice President, R. C. Brown of The Willard United Bank; E.L.Beelman, Mrs. Forrest Fink and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Beelman.
