Information from "Old Gravestones of Ulster County, New York" by Dr. J Wilson Poucher and Byron J Terwilliger, 1930, lists Henry M Herring (#101, b. & d. dates stated above, Corp, Co I, N. Y. V. M.) He is listed as being one of the Ashokan Removals, "a burying ground, on a hill, just west of the village of Woodstock, where removals were made from the area now occupied by the Ashokan Reservoir".
Note: since 1930 survey lists him with b. & d. dates and this military information from his stone he may be located in the Woodstock Cemetery where his sister, Christina Herring McCoon and brother-in-law, James McCoon, are also possibly buried.
