William Franklin McNemar, 74, a retired employee of Three Forks Coal Co., died suddenly and unexpectedly at 10:45 am, Monday at his home in Belington.

He was born in New Creek September 19, 1896, a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Mary M Heishman McNemar. On June 3, 1918, he was married to the former Gladys Row, who survives in Junior.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepmother Bessie McNemar Sturm of Morgantown, one half-brother, Harold of Mt. Clare; three half-sisters, Mrs. Mary Miller, Phoenix, Arizona, Edith (Howard) Sewell of Glen Burnie, Maryland, and Mrs. Louella Sturm of Morgantown.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, three brothers, three half-brothers, and three sisters.

Mr. McNemar was a member of the Junior Church of the Brethren, a member of the Belington Lodge 125, AF and AM, a member and past patron of the Belington Eastern Star 68, a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Osiris Shrine of Wheeling and a member of the United Mine Workers of America, Local 4419. He was a veteran of WWI

Friends will be received at the J. B. Runner Funeral Home in Belington after 2 pm., Wednesday. Mr. McNemar will be moved to the Junior Church of the Brethren on Thursday at noon to lie in state until the funeral hour at 2 pm. Reverend Walter H. Blough, minister of the Church of the Brethren of Elkins, will officiate, and interment will follow in the Junior Church o the Brethren Cemetery. Ritualistic services will be conducted at the grave by Belington Lodge 125, AF and AM.
